The artists’ contributions to the periodicals and books published in 1927 and 1928 show the links between art and poetry, and gave us an incomplete report of the painters who were close to the writers of the «young literature».

They were the following:  Almada Negreiros, Manuel Ángeles Ortiz, John Armstrong, Maurice Asselin, Rafael Barradas, Juan Bonafé, Francisco Bores, Norah Borges, Pancho Cossío, Salvador Dalí, Robert and Sonia Delaunay, Francesc Domingo, Apel.les Fenosa, Pedro Flores, Luis Garay, Federico García Lorca, Gabriel García Maroto, Ramón Gaya, Ismael González de la Serna, Juan Gris (who died in 1927), Marcel Gromaire, José Gutiérrez Solana, Wladislaw Jahl, Cristóbal Hall, Manolo Hugué, Maruja Mallo, Joan Miró, José Moreno Villa, Jesús Olasagasti, Santiago Ontañón, Benjamín Palencia, Joaquín Peinado, Santiago Pelegrín, Pablo Picasso, Gregorio Prieto, Pere Pruna, Olga Sacharoff, Alberto Sánchez, Ángeles Santos, Pablo Sebastián, Josep de Togores, José María Ucelay, Adriano del Valle, Daniel Vázquez Díaz, Esteban Vicente, and Hernando Viñes.

They moved around cubism, the new classicism, lyrical paintings, the new realism, and surrealism, and, according to Eugenio Carmona, they used these «isms as a repertoire to find specific solutions to concrete problems», such as the «art-poetry» advocated by Sebastià Gasch, and the lyrical arts forms that Francisco Bores named «fruit paintings».
